Mole & Skin Lesion Checks in Haywards Heath

Map My Mole at Imogen's Laser & Skin Clinic

Worried about a mole or noticed a skin lesion that has changed?

Map My Mole offers a simple way to have an individual mole or skin lesion checked by a UK consultant dermatologist.

At your appointment at Imogen’s in Haywards Heath, I will take detailed images of the mole or lesion using specialist dermoscopic equipment. These are securely sent to Map My Mole, where they are reviewed by a consultant dermatologist.

You will then receive a digital report with their findings and advice on whether anything further is recommended.

How does Map My Mole work?

Your appointment at Imogen’s is straightforward and doesn’t require a GP referral.

I will take specialist dermoscopic images of the mole or skin lesion you would like checked, along with the information required for the assessment.

Everything is then securely submitted to Map My Mole.

A UK consultant dermatologist reviews the images and provides a digital report, which is usually available within 24–48 hours.

If they feel the lesion needs further investigation, your report will explain the recommended next steps.

Why might I want a mole checked?

You may want to have a mole or skin lesion assessed if you have noticed that it:

  • has changed in size, shape or colour
  • looks different from your other moles
  • has recently appeared or changed
  • is something you’ve been keeping an eye on
  • is simply worrying you
  • needs checking before you consider having it cosmetically treated

You don’t need to decide yourself whether something looks concerning. If there’s a particular lesion you’re unsure about, please get in touch and I can advise whether Map My Mole may be suitable.

Mole checks before cryotherapy

I also offer cryotherapy at Imogen’s for a range of suitable benign skin lesions.

Sometimes a client comes in wanting a lesion removed but I’m not completely happy to treat it without having it checked first.

In those circumstances, I may recommend Map My Mole before we go any further.

It means the lesion can be reviewed by a consultant dermatologist first rather than taking any unnecessary chances with something we’re unsure about.

Map My Mole and cryotherapy are separate services and are charged separately.

Is this the same as full-body mole mapping?

No. Map My Mole is for checking specific individual moles or skin lesions.

It isn’t a full-body skin examination or a service that photographs and monitors all of your moles over time.

If you have lots of moles that need monitoring, have been advised that you are at increased risk of skin cancer, or would like a complete skin examination, a face-to-face dermatologist or specialist full-body mole-mapping service may be more appropriate.
