What is Skin Resurfacing?
Skin resurfacing is alternative approach to conventional skin peeling. Accelerating cell regeneration within the ‘living cells’ in the different layers of the skin. This action ensures maximum controlled delivery of actives without any negative side effects normally seen with traditionally peeling.
Different treatments can be combined in a prescriptive programme targeting specific skin concerns such as – ageing, rosacea, pigmentation, and acne.

How does skin resurfacing work?
pHformula products introduce a range of natural acids and vitamins to the skin, with different acids used to achieve different results. These include:
Glycolic Acid – to exfoliate & reduce pigment
Salicylic Acid – to clean pores & reduce oil on the skin
Lactic Acid – to brighten
Mandelic Acid – to exfoliate & speed up cell turnover

What to expect during treatment
Ahead of your consultation you will be required to have a consultation, where our highly skilled therapist will perform a skin sensitivity test. If treatment is possible your therapist will recommend the most appropriate pHformula peel for your skin concerns. We currently offer pHformula’s Age, MELA, Chronic redness and Acne resurfacing treatments.
We recommend that you use a skin care kit for 4 weeks prior to your resurfacing treatment to make sure your skin is prepared.
What results can you expect?
pHformula resurfacing treatments are used to great effect for a range of skin concerns, resulting in significant improvement in the overall complexion including smoother skin texture, reduced redness and/or inflammation, brighter appearance and smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles. Results will depend on skin preparation and aftercare, which are recommended for this treatment.
Bespoke eye treatment
WE start the treatment off with gentle dermabrasion which will superficially exfoliate the area and help with cell renewal, it will also help reduce fine lines and wrinkles. This is followed using the amazing pHformula Protonpen with nano needles which create tiny micro channels across the eye area, this controlled trauma tricks our bodies into ‘repair mode’. This will create collagen and elastin & skin regeneration at the site of ‘injury’. The micro channels also allow for a deeper penetration and delivery of vitamin A ingredients. The pHformula TDS/Vitamin A ingredients are used to increase cellular turnover, improving collagen production and cellular level changes. Once the TDS/Vitamin A has infused. We will then apply an advanced peptide mask to the eyes, allowing further penetration of ingredients, brightening, tightening & smoothing the eye contour area.

V.I.T.A. C resurfacing treatment
The V.I.T.A. C radiance release system contains a unique combination of actives to compliment any of our resurfacing treatments or as a stand-alone treatment. The Vitamin A will help increase your cell turnover while the L-ascorbic acid strengthens the skins collagen and elastin network. It is suited to photoaged and pigmented skin and can also help to improve uneven pigmentation when performed regularly. It is also really a great treatment to have before an event or for Brides.
The treatment is not advised for clients with Sensitive skin or Sunburn.

What Our Clients Say
Common Questions
Does skin resurfacing hurt?
Skin resurfacing does not cause pain whilst having treatment, however your skin may feel hot or itchy when the active ingredients are applied. This sensation is normal and won’t last for more than a few minutes. If you notice pain or become very uncomfortable, you can tell your therapist who will remove the treatment immediately.
Will my skin be red after treatment?
Because the resurfacing ingredients are activated on the skin, you may find that you leave the clinic looking a little pinker than usual. This varies from person to person and depends on the strength of the treatment. Usually any pinkness/redness can be covered with mineral make-up and generally subsides within a few hours.
Will my skin peel after treatment?
Unlike most other chemical peels, skin resurfacing does not cause your skin to peel off, instead it directs its active formula deep into the skin to encourage cell regeneration without any unsightly side effects.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments needed will depend on your desired outcome and individual skin type. However, a course of between 3 and 6 treatments is typical to achieve the best results. Your therapist will be able to advise an optimum treatment schedule following your skin sensitivity test.
Will I need a consultation first?
A skin sensitivity test should be conducted prior to your treatment appointment. It’s recommended this takes place 2 weeks before, where you’ll also be recommended a skin care kit to prepare your skin for treatment.
Do I need to prepare my skin?
pHformula homecare products should be used for two weeks in advance to enhance your overall results. The skin resurfacing homecare kits contain fundamental products to optimise and maintain the best possible results during the treatment programme.
Is there any after care?
pHformula homecare products can be used to assist the healing processes after treatment. You should also ensure you apply a factor 50 SPF for 5-10 days following treatment, when your skin will be more sensitive to UVA and UVB damage.
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Have a history of keloid scarring, scleroderma, collagen vascular disease or other cardiac abnormalities, and haemorrhagic disorders
- Have an active fungal, viral or bacterial infection in the area to treated, such as the herpes simplex virus (cold sores). If you do have a history of cold sores it is recommended that you use Zovirax or Acyclovir a week pre and post treatment.
A full consultation will be carried out prior to treatment to make sure that you do not have any medical conditions that will affect the treatment.
